About Bek

Bek is a survivor-advocate, author, and founder. She is the author of Misaligned, a forthcoming memoir about realizing at thirty that she had been trafficked—and reconstructing how it happened through childhood, manipulation, identity fracture, and recovery. She is also the founder of The Connection Project, a community-based peer support initiative for survivor healing and prevention.

Bek's work spans personal narrative, advocacy, and community building. She writes about trauma, agency, and how survivors reconstruct their own stories. She speaks publicly about the shape of manipulation, the role of community in recovery, and how we build systems that prevent exploitation. She works directly with survivors through peer support and consultation.

Her platform, BekConnects, reaches [X subscribers] on newsletter and is actively building community across social channels. She is currently querying Misaligned to literary agents (early 2027).

About Misaligned

Misaligned is a survivor's reconstruction of trafficking. It traces how a teenager who felt unseen became a woman who didn't recognize the shape of her own exploitation until decades later. The book follows the thread backward—through childhood, first disclosures, identity fracture—and then forward, toward alignment and prevention. It is a story about what happens when the person who understands you best is the person harming you, and what it takes to understand yourself again.

Status: Manuscript in progress; querying early 2027.

Comparable titles:Know My Name (Chanel Miller), Educated (Tara Westover), Nobody's Girl (Virginia Roberts Giuffre).
